Introducing Sadie Orders: the AI that answers every takeout call, handles the order, and fires it straight into your POS. No hold music. No missed revenue. No staff pulled off the floor.
It’s 6:30 PM on a Friday. Your dining room is full, the kitchen is firing on every burner, and your front-of-house team is stretched across tables. Then the phone rings.
Someone picks up. They rush the caller through an order, key it into the POS between greetings, and get back to the floor. Meanwhile, a second call came in while that one was still happening and it rang out.
That’s not a staffing problem. That’s a systems problem. And it’s one Sadie Orders is built to solve.
The Real Cost of the Phone During Service
Most restaurants think of missed calls as an inconvenience. The data says otherwise.
During peak dinner service (5:00 PM to 8:30 PM), 25% of inbound calls come in while another call is already being handled. At those volumes, that’s not a near-miss. That’s guaranteed lost revenue, every single shift.
But missed calls are only part of the story. The bigger issue is what answering the phone costs your team:
Staff pulled off the floor mid-service to take an order
Rushed calls mean upsells get skipped, consistently
Manual POS entry after every call slows ticket times and introduces errors
In-house guests feel the difference when your team is distracted
By the numbers
166 orders processed per location, per week
$31.92 average order value
$6,542 average weekly revenue added per location
25% of calls overlap during the dinner rush
2,000 simultaneous orders handled. Nothing rings out.
How Sadie Orders Works: From Ring to Ready
Sadie handles the entire takeout call from start to finish, without a single person needing to touch the phone. Here’s the full loop:
1. The phone rings. Sadie picks up.
Every call is answered immediately. No hold music, no missed rings. Even if 2,000 calls come in simultaneously, every single one gets answered. Your team doesn’t hear the phone.
2. Sadie takes the order accurately.
Sadie reads your live menu APIs in real time. She handles modifications, allergen questions, substitutions, and upsells on every call, consistently, without fail. If a returning customer calls, she recognises them by name and number and can offer to place their usual order.
3. The order fires directly to your POS.
The complete order goes straight into Square or Toast the moment the call ends. No manual re-entry. No re-keying errors. Tickets hit the kitchen faster, and your staff never had to be involved.
4. The customer gets a confirmation SMS.
Immediately after ordering, the customer receives a text with their order summary and estimated pickup time. No callbacks. No "did my order go through?"
5. Customer pays at pickup.
Payment happens at the counter when they collect. Simple and familiar. Text-to-pay integrated through Square and Toast is coming soon.
The Value Isn’t Just the Missed Calls
When we talk to restaurant operators, the conversation usually starts with missed calls. But the real pain, the one that resonates most, is the labour cost and the in-house experience.
Every time a team member answers the phone during service, something else suffers. A table doesn’t get checked on. A guest waits an extra beat. The flow of the room breaks. When a restaurant gets slammed, whoever answers the phone is rushing callers off the line. That means a skipped upsell, a mis-keyed order, or a frustrated customer.
Sadie never rushes. She takes her time on every call, prompts every upsell, and maintains complete consistency whether it’s a quiet Tuesday or a slammed Saturday night.
What’s Coming Next
Sadie Orders is already live and processing orders, but the product is growing. Two features are in active development:
Text-to-Pay
Following the ordering call, Sadie will send a text-to-pay link through Square and Toast. The order stays held while payment is processed. No callbacks, no dropped orders.
Delivery Automation
Delivery is on the roadmap and being built for in-house delivery systems, with configurability for enterprise operators. This isn’t an off-the-shelf add-on. It’s being built to fit how restaurants actually operate.
Pricing
Sadie Orders is $199/month per location (North America pricing; regional pricing varies). One flat fee. No per-call charges. No seat limits.
At 166 orders per week and a $31.92 average order value, that’s $6,542 in weekly revenue that would otherwise be at risk from missed calls, rushed orders, and staff pulled in two directions at once.
